Cuba | The Streets
Cuba is a beautiful place. Somewhere between romanticized and ignored, it’s one of the most mesmerizing countries I’ve ever had the privilege of photographing. During our four weeks on the Caribbean island nation, we spent countless hours on shoddy, bumpy roads as we travelled between Varadero, Havana, Trinidad, Vinales and Santiago. Cuba is like entering a time machine. Internet coverage is extremely sparse and most cars on the roads are the kind many of us have probably only ever seen in movies made before we were born. It’s a remnant of the cold war and a place I am glad I got to experience. It’s also a bit of a tragedy that it still exists today.
